Dojo - new project lead

Filed under: dojo — Nikolai Onken @ 4:14 pm

We want to congratulate both Alex Russell and Peter Higgins to some big news, as they both announced on their blogs (read Alex’s and Pete’s entry).

After Alex announced that he wanted to open the position as the Dojo Toolkit project lead, Pete got elected to be the new project lead after a vote by its committers.

Alex has been an amazing project lead for the past years, it was a pleasure to see how far he could steer the toolkit and the community, to make Dojo one of the best and most professional JavaScript libraries out there in the Open Web. Working with him was a great honor and hopefully will continue in the future.

I’ve been working very closely with Pete on several projects, mainly the DojoCampus with its sub projects and have enjoyed his energy, his incredible amount of ideas and his never ending will of wanting to build a community which pushes the boundaries while being there to support people who need the help.

I am confident that he will do an amazing job to continue what Alex has built up and I am looking forward to working with him.

Alex will stay as involved as he currently is, with a shift of focus to the more edgy and experimental stuff.

Congratulations and all the best for both Alex and Pete from uxebu!
